In the post, Bethesda confirms that it will be made available for free in January for all PC Skyrim players (sorry, console folk). The biggest announcement is an official word on release of the Creation Kit, which will allow PC gamers to use the same development tools Bethesda used to create Skyrim to mod it. In a post on its website, it laid out its plans for the coming months, which include the imminent release of modding tools, Steam Workshop support, and, of course, more bug fixes. While it's not talking about DLC or expansions just yet, which is good, considering we've still got a few hundreds of hours worth of stuff left to do on the disc, the developer is still planning on rolling out regular updates. “We expect Fallout 4 to take advantage of the PS4 Pro in 4k along with enhanced lighting and graphics features,” reads the announcement.Now that Bethesda has supposedly fixed most of the large issues with Skyrim (and is finishing up a patch to fix the stuff that the new patch broke), the developer is looking to the future. A Fallout 4 update will then come later to add the feature there. Mod support will come first to Skyrim Remastered when it launches on October 28th. Instead they’ll have to rely on the assets already available in the Creation Kit, which is used to create mods for all platforms. The only limitation on Fallout 4 PS4 mods seems to be that users cannot upload external assets to be used in the game. Though they said they would continue working on getting the highly anticipated feature onto the console, hopes were quite low.

After an extremely long wait, Bethesda announced that Fallout 4 mods on PS4 had been cancelled due to some behind-the-scenes issues with Sony.
